We came to Damrong Law after my father passed away with assets in both Thailand and India. The Thai side of the estate was something neither of us knew how to approach. Natcha walked us through the court appointment process without making it feel overwhelming. It took about four months in total, and we always knew what stage we were at.

I had been meaning to get a Thai will sorted for years, but I kept putting it off partly because I didn't know where to start. The consultation was straightforward — Somchai asked the right questions and the advice was plain. My only note is that the written summary arrived a few days later than I expected, but it was thorough when it came.

A dispute arose with a sibling over the distribution of our mother's estate. I was anxious about what it might involve. Prawit reviewed the matter, explained where we stood legally, and suggested an approach that avoided a formal hearing. The matter was resolved within six weeks. I am grateful for the measured way it was handled.

As a Finnish national with a condo in Bangkok, I wanted to understand how to arrange my Thai will alongside the one I have at home. Somchai knew exactly what questions to ask. He flagged things I hadn't considered — like how the property held in a company structure would be treated. A genuinely useful consultation.

My uncle passed away without a will and the family was unsure how to proceed. Natcha guided us through the administrator appointment and the bank correspondence. The process was longer than I had hoped, but that was because of the courts rather than the firm. Communication was steady throughout.

I contacted several practices before choosing Damrong Law. What struck me was the absence of pressure — I asked whether I needed to decide anything immediately and was told, simply, no. That set the tone. Prawit handled a difficult family dispute with a clarity and steadiness that made a stressful situation considerably more manageable.

How Three Matters Unfolded
Names and identifying details have been changed. These accounts represent real types of matters handled by the practice.
The Situation
Estate with No Will, Multiple Beneficiaries
A British national passed away in Bangkok with bank accounts and a leasehold property, leaving behind an adult child in the UK and a Thai partner. No Thai will existed. The family needed an administrator appointed and the estate distributed fairly.
What Was Done
The Thai partner was advised on the court application process and supported through it. Asset documentation was prepared; the bank accounts and property interests were identified and inventoried. Correspondence with financial institutions was handled by the practice throughout.
Outcome
The estate was administered and distributed within five months. Both beneficiaries were kept informed at each stage and the process concluded without dispute.
"I don't think I could have managed this without someone who knew what the Thai process actually involved."
The Situation
Will Validity Contested by Adult Children
A Thai woman's will was contested by two adult children from a previous relationship who claimed the document was signed under undue influence. The named beneficiary — a nephew — sought representation.
What Was Done
The practice reviewed the circumstances of the will's execution, gathered witness statements, and assessed the legal basis of the challenge. A meeting with the opposing party was arranged before any formal proceedings were filed. Both sides agreed on terms outside court.
Outcome
The matter was resolved in eight weeks, avoiding civil proceedings. The agreed distribution honoured the principal terms of the will. All parties were represented throughout the settlement discussions.
"Prawit was straightforward with me about what the process might involve. That honesty mattered a great deal."
